Would you/your child like to be part of a Neurogenic Bladder research study?

Neurogenic Bladder is a condition that can be caused by disease or birth defects including Spina Bifida, which is the most common cause in children. This condition often results in incontinence, bladder infections and increased risk of kidney damage, which significantly impacts daily quality of life.

The purpose of the research study is to test the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug, oxybutynin chloride topical gel (OXY gel), for Neurogenic Bladder symptoms in children.

Your child may qualify to participate in this research study if they are:

  • Six to sixteen years of age and in stable condition
  • Have a diagnosis of Neurogenic Bladder
  • Using intermittent catheterization without diuretics
  • Able to keep a urinary diary during the study

Oxybutynin chloride is approved for the treatment of Neurogenic Bladder symptoms in tablet and liquid form for use by both children and adults as a patch (Oxytrol®) and gel (Gelnique®), for use by adults only.

Research studies are critical to the process of developing safe and effective future treatments and medications and may help other children in the future. If you/your child or someone you know would like more information about this research study, please call to learn more.
